Community News & Real Estate Market Updates

As the first crisp breezes roll in, the season starts to shift into autumn’s golden glow. September is that sweet spot where late-summer sunshine meets early-fall charm—perfect for outdoor adventures, cozy traditions, and savoring the flavors that make this time of year so special.

Harvests, Hayrides, and Happenings

Hunt Club Farm – (Open Daily 10am–6pm) – Meet barnyard animals at the petting farm, wander pumpkin patches, and explore the treetop walkways. This family-friendly spot brims with fall charm—and from Sept. 27 – Nov. 2, the Harvest Fair adds hayrides, music, and extra autumn fun.
Cullipher Farm (Open Tuesday–Sunday 9am–6pm) – Pick apples, peaches, or pumpkins beneath Pungo skies, let kids race pedal carts or wander the corn maze, then browse the market for fresh produce, pies, and jams. With hayrides, slushies, and shifting seasonal fields, its autumn abundance is wrapped in family fun.
NashFest 757 (Sept. 13) – Norfolk’s waterfront comes alive with the sounds of Nashville—live music all day, hot chicken and southern eats, plus whiskey tastings and craft beer. Add in line dancing and riverfront views, and it’s a one-day festival brimming with southern charm.
Sunset Cruise aboard the American River (Sept. 5–Oct. 4, Select Dates) – Step onto Norfolk’s tall red-sailed schooner as twilight glows across the river. Breeze on your face, music in the air, city lights waking on the horizon—it’s an evening that drifts as gently as the tide.
Rural Hill Corn Maze (Sept. 6–Oct.31) –- Lose yourself in towering corn stalks, crisp autumn air, and the thrill of finding your way out. Hayrides, bonfires, and cider make it a fall night worth remembering.

Williamsburg Harvest Festival (Sept. 20 11am–3pm) – Head to Chickahominy Riverfront Park for music, games, crafts, and the always-popular Scarecrow Row. Admission is free; parking is $10 per car, and it’s $20 for scarecrow row.
Skyline Drive (Open 24/7) –  Welcome autumn with a winding drive through the Blue Ridge, where every curve opens to sweeping views of valleys painted in gold and crimson. It’s a gentle, scenic way to savor the season’s warmth and radiant colors.
Carter Mountain Orchard (Open Daily 9am–6pm) – Stroll through sunlit rows to gather apples, savor warm cider donuts dusted with sugar, and browse the market’s autumn treasures. From a hilltop table, take in orchards and valleys awash in amber and scarlet.
State Fair (Sept. 26–Oct. 5) – Step through the gates into a world of whirling rides, glowing lights, and barns brimming with blue-ribbon pride. The air carries barbecue smoke and sugar-sweet funnel cakes, and every turn feels larger, brighter, and more magical than the last.
