Great Ways To Treat The Moms In Your Life
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and I wanted to share some great local ways to treat the ‘Moms’ in your life. From great meals and unique gifts, to fun things to do together, this list offers you some unique and out-of-the-box ideas. Ideas encompass all kinds of options for all types of Moms. Have fun with it!
Because most Moms cook for us, on Mother’s Day we want to take them out for a special meal. For sand and sun loving Moms, consider taking them to Waterman’s Surfside Grill on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, a locals favorite. Vegetarian Moms will enjoy a fresh Mediterranean lunch in the beautiful garden at Grandiflora in the heart of Norfolk’s Chelsea. La Piazza in Williamsburg’s Merchant Square serves freshly made pasta in a beautiful atmosphere. Smithfield Inn offers truly southern lunch fare, fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese anyone? Finally, dining at sunset at Aqua in Duck, North Carolina, with views over the sound is sure to please.
It’s fun to find the perfect gift to suit Mom’s personality and interests. Moms who love to garden would love a gift card or colorful plant from McDonald Garden Center. How about a glitzy LOVE snowglobe from Norfolk’s Mermaid Market? Mom’s who watch the birds in the garden will enjoy a gift from Wild Birds Unlimited in Chesapeake (other locations throughout our region)! If Mom is an environmental warrior, check out the items from the Eco Maniac. And, if pampering is in order, try the Ultimate Experience at the Williamsburg Salt Spa for four full hours of relaxation for Mom.
Do you have an active Mom who likes to go… see… and do? Here are some activities to share with her on her special day. Is Mom adventurous? Mom’s climb FREE on Adventure Park’s ropes courses on Mother’s Day. Does Mom enjoy a tea party? How about a Mad-hatter Brunch in Suffolk or Afternoon Tea at The Sweet Easy in Elizabeth City? There are many spots to go strawberry picking with Mom, and then afterward you can make her a special strawberry shortcake dessert!

but whose place no one else can take”

Happy Mother’s Day. I hope that you make it one to remember this year.
